Nippon India Mutual Fund is a significant Indian asset manager with Rs. 5,49,998 crores AUM (August 2024). SEBI registered Nippon India Mutual Fund MF/022/95/1 on June 30, 1995. On September 28, 2019, Reliance Mutual Fund (formerly Nippon Life Insurance Company in a joint venture with Reliance Capital) became Nippon India Mutual Fund. Nippon Life later acquired 75% of the JV. First mutual fund firm listed on a stock exchange in 2017. NIMF was formed to boost the capital market and give investors diverse assets through public schemes. Nippon India Mutual Fund has 86 primary fund schemes in March 2024, i.e 47 equity, 27 loan, 8 hybrid, 4 commodities schemes. In March 2024, Nippon India Small Cap, CPSE ETF, and Liquid had the largest AUM. The firm has 8.07% industry AUM. Nippon India Mutual Fund has 243.16 lakh investor accounts and 263 locations in India as of 31 March 2024.
